He has been designing home accessories and furniture pieces for major retailers in the USA, Europe, and Australia. For several years, he worked with talented artisans around Southeast Asia – first in his home country the Philippines, and later in Java and Bali, Indonesia, where he lived for more than 3 years. His works have been shown at Talents, Ambiente in Frankfurt, Maison & Objet in Paris, A+ at Accent on Design - New York International Gift Fair, and at the Designboom Mart, International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF), New York. His works have been featured in a number of design related websites and magazines, such as Inhabitat, icon, and Elle Decor Italia.
His designs are characterized by a raw yet modern aesthetic, reflecting folk influences while utilizing handcraft production techniques. The issue of sustainability is something that he tries to address in his work constantly. As a supporter of socially responsible community-based crafts, he worked as a design consultant for a fair trade organization early in his career.
His products have been purchased by prominent design personalities and institutions such as Vladimir Kagan and the store at The New Museum of Contemporary Art, New York.
During the day he designs ceramics, lighting, and furniture for Jonathan Adler.
He lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
